Downhole tool sliding sleeve seal
The downhole tool sliding sleeve seal, we usually call it sliding sleeve or V stack, is a two-way elastic energy storage combination seal. It is a commonly used sealing element in downhole tools for oil production. When the sliding sleeve is pushed to the proper position, the sliding sleeve activates the sealing function to seal off the upstream, so that the fracturing work can be carried out at the desired position, which plays an indispensable and important role in the entire oil production industry.
Among the various sliding sleeve currently used, high temperature resistance, high pressure resistance, and sealing reliability are the key factors; in addition, the sliding sleeve seal is a dynamic seal against the pipe wall during the sliding sleeve pushing process, and becomes a static seal after it is in place, the transformation of this sealing method poses a great challenge to the transmission seal. It must be stable during the movement process, and there must be no crawling and scratching of the sealing lip. After it is changed into a static seal, it also requires sufficient pressure resistance.
JST has different sliding sleeve seals which can be applied for different working conditions.
Working temperature: 4℃~180℃, Maximum to 233℃
Working pressure: 5000PSI, 7500PSI, 10000PSI, 15000PSI
Material: PTFE filled carbon, PEEK, CU, Elgiloy /SS spring
Below are the most common used design:
JST is able to design the most suitable sliding sleeve/V stack for your downhole tools just based on your unique working condition or application, such as for the fracturing application.
