What are the design features and advantages of FS seal
FS casing and tubing seals are uniquely designed sealing elements that provide excellent sealing in areas where high seal deflection is required. The design features of this seal allow the component to compensate for changes in piping, housing, or large diameter parts.
The use of metal clamping springs provides extrusion resistance. The open coil has no initial tension during manufacturing, so the coil can be opened freely to allow rubber penetration during the forming process. The same mechanism allows the spring to react to pressure fluctuations during operation to close the gap in the metalwork and ensure that the elastomer is prevented from extruding.
FS sealing technology is very suitable for applications with large extrusion clearance relative to diameter, and has flexibility. The shape of the design allows a high level of deflection over the entire operating temperature range without the risk of overfilling the gland. Similar to the S seal, the FS seal structure eliminates possible installation problems when multiple component seals are used.
