PTFE is the abbreviation of Polytetrafluoroethylene, also name is Teflon. PTFE is used in a variety of industrial products including gaskets, bearings and parts for valves, pumps and hydraulic cylinders.

PTFE offers the following characteristics:

• Low Friction, good self-lubricating function.

• Good Electrical Insulation.

• Wide Temperature Range (from 250℃+ to -195℃)

• Excellent Acid & Chemical Resistance. Resistant to any concentration of strong acid, strong alkali, strong oxidizing medium and organic solvent.

• Chemically or mechanically etched sheet and strip is available where bonding to other components or structures is required. Thinner gauge sheeting is also available.

Virgin, Expanded or Filled PTFE

• Virgin PTFE is one of the known chemically inert materials, which is commonly used for gaskets in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

• Expanded PTFE is produced by expanding the original PTFE. The process adopted can form a uniform and highly fibrillated microstructure with the same tensile strength in all directions. Expanded PTFE grades are used for damaged flange faces and glass or plastic flanges.

• Filled PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is a sealing material to be used for sealing in chemically challenging conditions.

PTFE Envelope/ Rubber Insert Gaskets

Standard Rubber joints can be provided with an envelope of virgin PTFE to protect the exposed joint edge from corrosion and provide excellent chemical resistance in jobs where hygiene and pollution-free are essential.

PTFE Seal
