Modified PTFE(TFM)and Good Sealing Solution for Low Temperature Applications
TFM is a modified PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), commonly known as white polytetrafluoroethylene. This material has excellent chemical properties and is the lowest friction coefficient among all solid materials. The wide temperature range (-200 ℃ to+260 ℃) and mechanical properties makes it a widely used universal material.
TFM Modified PTFE has the same excellent chemical resistance and thermal stability as standard PTFE, whilst delivering improved weldability, lower deformation under load and lower permeability, it is often used in sealing solutions.
Modified PTFE has many advantages over PTFE. Lower deformation under load, better fatigue performance, easier welding, better transparency, higher elongation and higher dielectric strength. Modified PTFE, like PTFE, has excellent chemical resistance and very low friction coefficient.
JST can design and manufacture your products, parts, or components using modified PTFE (TFM). Whether developing new parts from scratch or providing new solutions for faulty components through innovation, our engineers can design and manufacture Modified PTFE (TFM) products that meet and exceed performance requirements.

Main application
For piston/rod seals with spring or elastomer energizer, particularly suitable for low-temperature applications. This material is typically used for butterfly valve seals, ball valve seals, gate valve seals, and globe valve seals under ultra-low temperature conditions.
