JST designs and manufactures spring energized lip seals for ball valve. In this article, we will introduce some lip seals used for different sealing application in ball valve.

Lip seal type FVR is used for ball valve seat sealing.

As shown in picture Fig-1, the FVR lip seal contains four parts. 1- T ring (material: carbon filled PTFE), 2- U ring (material: carbon filled PTFE), 3-Spring (material: Alloy or Stainless steel), 4- Back-up ring (material: PEEK). The back-up ring is not a must for low pressure condition.

Lip seal type FHB is used for ball valve body, bonnet and trunnion sealing.

As shown in picture Fig-2, the FHB lip seal contains three parts. 1- Back-up ring (material: PEEK), 2- U ring (material: carbon filled PTFE), 3-Spring (material: Alloy or Stainless steel). The back-up ring is not a must for low pressure condition.

Lip seal type FHR is used for ball valve stem sealing.

As shown in picture Fig-3, the FHR lip seal contains three parts. 1- T ring (material: carbon filled PTFE), 2- U ring (material: carbon filled PTFE), 3-Spring (material: Alloy or Stainless steel). A back-up ring is needed for high pressure condition.
