JST Seals manufactures spring energized seals of different materials.

Spring energized seals are composed of two parts: a PTFE or polymer jacket and a corrosion-resistant, metal energizer spring. comparing to other seals, the seals provide better performance over elastomeric seals and metal gaskets that typically fail.

Its sealing jacket is a U-shaped shell made of high-performance non-metallic polymer material by precision turning, and the spring is made of corrosion-resistant metal. The sealing ring is suitable for the temperature range from - 196 ℃ to 260 ℃, with stable performance. The spring energized seal is installed in the sealing groove. The spring will close the jacket lip to the sealing groove to form the initial sealing force. The medium pressure will also provide the sealing force. The higher the medium pressure, the greater the medium sealing force. Through spring force and system pressure, effective sealing can be achieved under high pressure or low pressure.

Various types of JST materials have passed H2S immersion test, such as PTFE/PEEK/UHMW-PE/316SS/alloy spring.
