SLS sealing packing is a high-quality stem packing primarily used in FLS and FLS-R style gate valves. This seal is spring energized and is applied to the top of the valve bonnet around the valve stem.  On the hydraulic valve, additional SLS packing is used at the bottom of the valve with the lower balance valve stem.

Materials and Components

The high-quality materials used by Heshka Oil in SLS sealing make it a very reliable component in FLS and FLS-R gate valves.

This seal has two parts. The sealing jacket is made of carbon/molybdenum filled PTFE, and the cantilever spring is made of 300 series stainless steel as standard. Elgiloy can be used as an upgraded version.

According to pressure requirements, unfilled peek backup rings may be required. Doubling on cantilever springs is also common, which helps reduce pressure sealing requirements.

JST has various sizes available for SLS type seals for FLS and FLR-R gate valves, providing you with seals that match your specific valve size and pressure. Standard sizes include 1-13/16 "10000 PSI to 7-1/16" 20000 PSI. JST can also customize SLS seals designed for customers.
